UNIZIK Teachers’ Assembly Focuses on Digital Learning and Better Postgraduate Supervision
Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, held its 2026 Postgraduate Teachers’ Assembly, focusing on innovative teaching, stronger supervision and digital learning. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ugochukwu Anyaehie, said postgraduate education must produce innovators and problem-solvers who can respond to challenges such as artificial intelligence and economic change. He pledged continued support through research funding, improved facilities and policies that reward excellence. Speakers highlighted the need for clear policies, suitable technology, updated curricula and digitally skilled lecturers and students for successful online postgraduate programmes. They also called for timely feedback, regular communication and stronger supervisor-student relationships to improve thesis completion rates. The assembly included group sessions, reports and discussions aimed at improving postgraduate teaching, research and supervision at the university.
