Benard and Uduak Crowned Champions at Abuja MMA Fight Night
Emmanuel Benard and Victoria Uduak stood out as top fighters at the Akalaka MMA event held in Abuja’s 21 Arena. Sixteen competitors battled across featherweight, bantamweight, lightweight, and strawweight divisions. In the -61kg headliner, Benard defeated Yakubu Solomon by unanimous decision, earning best male fighter and best fight of the night. Uduak claimed best female fighter after a first-round TKO win over Blessing Shettima in the 65kg bout. Other highlights included Nasirudeen Abdulkareem’s first-round TKO, Balikis Quadri’s submission victory, and a draw between Joseph James and David Ezekiel. Akalaka President Dr Ebere Benard praised the platform for nurturing youth discipline and talent.
