Anambra Assembly Urges Soludo to Evacuate Stranded Indigenes from South Africa
The Anambra State House of Assembly has asked Governor Chukwuma Soludo to mobilise individuals, philanthropic organisations and the private sector to help evacuate citizens trapped in South Africa. Lawmakers expressed deep concern over verified reports of xenophobic attacks and systemic hostility that have created dire conditions for many Anambra indigenes abroad. A motion moved by the Majority Leader, representing Ekwusigo constituency, noted that shifting immigration policies and unfavourable local conditions have left families back home under severe emotional and financial strain. The House resolved that public-spirited individuals, captains of industry and Anambra diaspora organisations should come together urgently to bring these stranded citizens home safely.
