Qing Madi Alleges Ex-Manager Forged Signature After EP Disappears from Spotify

Qing Madi Alleges Ex-Manager Forged Signature After EP Disappears from Spotify — 1 of 4
1 / 4

Singer Qing Madi has accused her former manager Joy Tongo of forgery, theft and sabotage after several tracks from her Barely Legal EP vanished from Spotify. On TikTok Live, the 19-year-old claimed Tongo stole from her, forged her signature and even sued her for $2 million—a case she says she won because she was a minor and her mother had to join her in court. Qing Madi recalled how an earlier single, “Pepper Me,” was wrongly taken down and reinstated, only for her full EP to face the same fate. “How are you fighting with a kid?” she asked. Joy Tongo has denied the allegations, stating no trial has occurred and pointing to an existing injunction. She says she will pursue legal remedies as the dispute, now public, keeps Qing Madi’s music off Spotify.

You're right, this situation sounds really troubling. Artists need real control over their own work.

It's unusual for an EP to vanish without any formal notice from the platform, especially after a dispute goes public.

This feels a bit dramatic; maybe there's missing context before we jump to theft and sabotage accusations on TikTok Live.
