Warning: TikTok Scam Cost Me ₦800,000 for Mexico World Cup Visa

Warning: TikTok Scam Cost Me ₦800,000 for Mexico World Cup Visa — 1 of 4
1 / 4

I found a TikTok user claiming to be a travel agent for Mexico World Cup visas. He asked for ₦800,000 upfront to handle my ticket and hotel reservation, so I sent the money. A few days before my embassy appointment in Abuja, I learned the agent had sent me land documents and fake bank statements instead of visa papers. He insisted this was normal, but I was turned away at the embassy gate. I’ve never met him in person, and I’m still out the money. To everyone hoping to travel abroad, please verify your agent and avoid this page.

How did you first discover that this TikTok 'travel agent' was a scam before your embassy appointment?

It's surprising someone would send ₦800,000 upfront to a random TikTok user without verifying their credentials first.

Maybe you should have checked if the agent had a reliable track record instead of trusting a viral TikTok video alone.
