Osun State Rejects Multi-Billion Fraud Claims as Baseless and Politically Driven
The Osun State Government has dismissed allegations of multi-billion naira infrastructure fraud and fund diversion as “baseless, malicious and politically motivated.” In a statement from the Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, the administration denied claims that the Chief of Staff and the Accountant-General diverted federal funds without legislative approval. The government clarified that the office of the Chief of Staff has no authority over public funds and that all financial operations follow due procedures. Highlighting its commitment to transparency, the state cited a 100% score in a recent Fiscal Transparency League evaluation. The statement also warned that naming private citizens in the petition was reckless and defamatory, and urged the public and media to disregard the unfounded allegations.
