Israel DMW: 'Blacks Remain Best' as He Slams Bringing 'Oyinbo' Kids Home

Israel DMW: 'Blacks Remain Best' as He Slams Bringing 'Oyinbo' Kids Home — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Israel DMW has criticised transnational marriage, saying marrying abroad isn’t the issue but bringing foreign-born children back to Nigeria is. He insisted, “Blacks still remain best.” He also called out Sophia Momodu’s lawyer during a recent custody battle, warning people to beware of women “who carry churches on their heads like a cross,” because their minds can be deep and indifferent to how their actions hurt others. Last year at TY Danjuma’s 88th birthday dinner, Israel hinted at a new romance, sharing a photo of himself with a mystery lady in a green gown. He did not show her face but fuelled fan curiosity. Israel’s first marriage to influencer Sheila Courage ended amid allegations of domestic issues. He refuted claims of physical assault and said she tried to change him. Sheila, in turn, denied his allegations, saying he spoiled her to cover his flaws. After their split, Israel warned men to stay clear of Sheila and chastised her for using their divorce to boost her profile.

He says 'Blacks remain best' but criticizing families for raising children abroad feels more like fear of outside influence than genuine community pride.

I get worrying about local culture, but why single out foreign-born kids? Surely they also enrich our society in fresh ways.

Instead of blanket bans, perhaps support programs that help returning children adapt and preserve Nigerian traditions effectively.
