Glasner Explains Why Uche Was Left Out of Conference League Squad

Glasner Explains Why Uche Was Left Out of Conference League Squad

Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Glasner has opened up on his choice to remove Nigerian forward Christantus Uche from the Europa Conference League squad. Uche had scored twice in four appearances before being omitted earlier this year. Glasner said squad rules and new signings forced the decision. “If I had known Eddie Nketiah wouldn’t get fit, Uche would have been registered,” he admitted. He stressed there was no personal issue. “I like him as a person, but I had to make a decision.”

With Uche scoring twice already, why do you think Glasner omitted him from that Conference League squad?

I agree, Uche's goal form really deserved that spot. Maybe Glasner dey try other tactics.

Fair point, team shape and tactics can outweigh individual scoring runs.

Did Glasner's explanation mention reasons beyond Uche's scoring record?

Makes sense – squad rotation and tactical balance often trump goal stats.

It seems squad registration rules and the timing of new signings really dictated Uche's exclusion, more than his goal contributions.

Not sure that following rules alone justifies leaving a forward who's in form out of a competition roster.

Clubs should balance squad regulations with player momentum; rotating such in-form talent could maintain morale and performance.
