NUT Cleaner Collapses and Dies En Route to FCT Office

A cleaner at the Federal Capital Territory wing of the Nigeria Union of Teachers collapsed on his way to work in Gwagwalada Area Council on April 21. Passersby found him lying in a drainage near an army checkpoint and alerted the police and union staff. He was rushed to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, where doctors confirmed his death. The deceased, Jessey A. Audu, was a native of Nasarawa state and lived in Unguwar Dodo, Gwagwalada. Colleagues said he appeared healthy when he left home around 7:12 am. The FCT NUT chairman visited the morgue to identify the body. Colleagues recalled working with him the day before and described him as hale and hearty.
