Tinubu Says His Government Is Tackling Inherited Economic and Security Challenges

President Bola Tinubu says his administration is confronting the economic and security challenges it inherited from the previous government. Speaking during a meeting with Catholic bishops at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu said the economy had recovered and was on a sounder footing. He added that Nigeria had moved beyond the “dark tunnel” he said the country entered before he assumed office. The President also said he had approved the expansion of the Nigerian Army and other armed forces. According to him, the government will provide resources for equipment, new barracks and the fight against terrorism.
