Open Heavens Devotional – Exceed in Prayer (8 July 2026)

Date: Wednesday, 8 July 2026 Theme: Exceed in Prayer Memory Verse: “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit…” (Ephesians 6:18) Read Genesis 32:24–30. Jacob wrestles with God until he receives a life-changing blessing. In 1975, Pa Josiah Akindayomi spent nights on his knees in prayer. His example taught the author to pray without ceasing. God calls every believer to a vibrant prayer life. Don’t grow complacent when things go well. Keep pushing to go higher in prayer, just as Jacob held on until he prevailed. Key Point: Never settle for your current prayer level. Always strive to exceed it. Prayer Points: 1. Thank God for the privilege of prayer and access to His throne of grace. 2. Ask for mercy when you’ve neglected fervent prayer. 3. Receive the spirit to wrestle in prayer until breakthrough. 4. Pray for fresh hunger and discipline to pray without ceasing. 5. Intercede for believers growing weary in prayer.
