Osimhen Poised to Take on Captain’s Armband at Galatasaray

Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk has hinted that Victor Osimhen could assume an even greater leadership role at the club next season. The Nigerian striker has become a key figure at Rams Park since joining two years ago. Osimhen helped the Yellow and Reds secure a domestic double in 2024/25 with his impressive goals and assists tally. This term he has already netted 20 goals in all competitions. Buruk says the 27-year-old will soon be named one of Galatasaray’s captains, praising his leadership both on and off the pitch. On the international stage, Osimhen is also vice-captain of the Super Eagles heading into the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
