Why Nigeria’s Opposition Must Unite to Challenge the Ruling Party
Nigeria’s opposition is rich in talent but mired in disunity. Since President Tinubu took office, defections and legal battles have weakened major parties like the PDP, ADC, and Labour Party. Senior figures have joined parties with known constitutional or eligibility issues. Blaming the ruling party alone won’t secure victory if parties fail to close legal loopholes and enforce internal discipline. Election readiness requires strategic unity, internal democracy, and strict compliance with electoral regulations. Nigerians will reward competence and coherence, not continued lamentation. The time for excuses is over. Opposition leaders must get organized now or risk irrelevance in 2027.
