While he offered no official reason, Patrick Spiff’s recent social media activity hints at a shift in loyalty. He’s been seen wearing NDC-branded attire and posting predictions of victory for the party in Bayelsa and across the country. This move comes amid wider realignments in Bayelsa politics. Governor Diri defected to the APC last year, while former ally Seriake Dickson founded the NDC after declining to follow him. The new party has attracted figures like Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso as it positions itself ahead of 2027.
