Ofugara All-Stars Tournament Expands to 32 Teams, Names Egwuekwe and Obodo Ambassadors
The Ofugara Give Back Initiative has expanded the fourth Ofugara All-Stars Football Tournament to 32 teams from across Delta State. The competition is open to former footballers aged 44 and above from the state’s three senatorial districts. Former Super Eagles players Azubuike Egwuekwe and Christian Obodo have been named brand ambassadors. Ex-international and football administrator Edema Fuludu will chair the reconstituted Local Organising Committee, with Henry Dittimiya as deputy chairman. Registration opens on August 13, 2026, and closes on August 21. The preliminary stage begins on August 29. Teams may register up to 25 players and five officials, with verified photographs and NIN required for all players. Matches will be held at the primary venues, with the NNPC and Nana College grounds added to support the larger format. Organisers say the tournament will promote football, friendship and peaceful coexistence among communities across Delta State.
