NOA DG Urges Nigerians to Embrace Love and Unity This Easter
Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, Director-General of the National Orientation Agency, has called on Nigerians to reflect the spirit of Easter by promoting love, tolerance and unity across faith, ethnic and political divides. He warned that terrorists and other criminal elements remain the greatest threat to national cohesion. The recent bomb attacks in Maiduguri and the Palm Sunday assault in Jos underscore the urgent need for collective resolve. The DG assured citizens that the government is fully committed to deploying all available resources and strategies to achieve lasting security. He urged religious leaders, traditional rulers and community stakeholders to use their platforms to preach peace and mutual respect. In a statement from the NOA communications office, Issa-Onilu extended warm Easter greetings and called on the media and civil society organisations to actively counter hate speech and divisive narratives.
