Bauchi Imposes Night Ban on Okada from 8pm and Keke from 10pm to Tackle Crime

Bauchi Imposes Night Ban on Okada from 8pm and Keke from 10pm to Tackle Crime

Night travel by commercial motorcycles and tricycles is now restricted in Bauchi State under an executive order. Okada operations must stop by 8:00pm, while keke services end at 10:00pm each night. The Police Public Relations Officer says the curfew will help suppress the spike in criminal incidents carried out after dark. Authorities have denied recent allegations of police brutality. They say a motorcyclist, Ishak Abubakar, obstructed officers, threatened unrest and was arraigned for assault and insulting public servants. A special team will investigate the claims, and anyone found violating the order or attacking law enforcement will be prosecuted.
