Dele Momodu: ADC Must Target Northern Nigeria to Unseat Tinubu in 2027
In a recent television interview, opposition leader and media entrepreneur Dele Momodu urged the African Democratic Congress to adopt a structured strategy for the 2027 election. He argued that unity, experience and detailed planning matter more than popularity alone. Momodu recalled the Buhari campaign’s polling-unit monitoring and said elections are won through solid structures, money, ethnic and religious considerations. He warned that time is running out and the party must decide on its course quickly. On party leadership, he insisted no single individual owns the ADC ticket. He noted existing contenders like Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi bring valuable experience. Momodu dismissed notions of an unwritten North-South rotation and pointed to growing APC discontent in the North as a prime opportunity. He concluded that the opposition must compromise and leverage strategy over spending. Those with experience should lead, while others are accommodated, to build a coherent campaign against President Tinubu.
