FCT Minister to Commission 18 Projects on Tinubu’s Third Anniversary, Launches Probe into Gudu Building Collapse
The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, says at least 18 new projects will be commissioned during President Bola Tinubu’s third anniversary celebrations. He spoke after inspecting key roads and bridges in Abuja and urged contractors to finish by early June. Wike also addressed the recent collapse of a three-storey building in Gudu, which killed four people and injured nine. He has set up a panel to investigate the cause, sealed off the site and ordered the arrest of the responsible engineer. The developer will face charges soon. The minister warned all developers to allow thorough supervision of building works. He stressed the need for proper soil tests and quality materials. He said the protection of lives and property remains the government’s top priority.
