Unemployed Man Jailed for Stealing 1,320 Cement Blocks in Ota
A magistrates’ court in Ota has sentenced 28-year-old Mohammed Ibrahim to four months imprisonment for stealing 1,320 cement blocks valued at N950,000. Ibrahim pleaded guilty to theft and conspiracy but was offered an N20,000 fine as an alternative. Court records state that the offence took place between June 19 and 23 at a construction site on Adefarm Street, Ota. The stolen blocks belonged to Mr Babatunde Samson. Presiding Magistrate O.O. Fadairo found the evidence conclusive, noting that Ibrahim violated sections 390 and 516 of the Ogun State Criminal Code.
