Clive Davis at 94: Legendary Record Executive’s Net Worth and Legacy

Clive Jay Davis (April 4, 1932 – June 22, 2026) was a pioneering record executive, producer and lawyer. He led Columbia Records from 1967 to 1973, founded Arista Records in 1974, and later chaired RCA Music Group until 2008. Davis was also chief creative officer at Sony Music Entertainment until his passing. Over a six-decade career, he signed icons like Janis Joplin, Bruce Springsteen, Whitney Houston and Barry Manilow. His keen talent discovery earned him five Grammy Awards and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. He also came out as bisexual in his memoir, leading to wider recognition of bisexuality in the music industry. Davis studied political science at NYU and law at Harvard before entering music. He married twice and raised four children, including music executive Doug Davis. At the time of his death, his net worth was estimated at around US$850 million.
