Ghana Police Arrest 11 Nigerians for Drug Trafficking and Cyber Fraud in Tamale
On March 30, the Northern Regional Special Operations Team of the Ghana Police Service carried out an intelligence-led raid in the Tamale Metropolis. The team, led by Chief Inspector Abu Issahaku, first arrested one suspect in Yung with two sachets of 250mg Tramadol. Further intelligence led officers to Wamale, where ten more Nigerians were detained for alleged involvement in internet fraud. Authorities seized dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, two sachets of 225mg Tramadol, nine laptops, three SIM cards, and eleven mobile phones from the premises. All eleven suspects are now in custody at the Northern Regional Headquarters, assisting with ongoing investigations. I am baffled that some Nigerians abroad resort to drug peddling and internet fraud instead of pursuing honest work.
