Kano Court Remands Man Over Alleged Mosque Shoe Theft
A Kano Magistrates’ Court has remanded Muhammad Najib Rimin Kebe in a correctional facility over allegations that he repeatedly stole worshippers’ shoes from the mosque within the Norman’s Land Court premises. Police arraigned him on charges of trespass and theft before Magistrate Dayyabu Jamilu Hamza. The allegations followed complaints from court workers, police officers, correctional service personnel and other worshippers about recurring shoe thefts at the mosque. The case was adjourned until August 28, 2026, for further hearing.
