Four Suspected Aiye Confraternity Hitmen Arrested in Lagos, Weapons Seized
Lagos State Police Command says its officers have arrested four suspected hitmen linked to the notorious Aiye Confraternity in Ajanmgbadi, Ojo. The suspects — Emmanuel Nwokolo (“Oblo”), Ayola Israel (“Essy Awpaw”), Ebuka Nnamdi and Chinedu Okafor — were picked up at a local hotel after credible intelligence led officers to their hideout. Police recovered two home-made pistols, a revolver and thirteen live cartridges. Investigators also retrieved a video from one suspect’s phone showing suspected killings in Ajanmgbadi and nearby communities. The suspects confessed to terrorising residents and admitted membership of the Aiye cult. Further searches and investigations are underway to identify accomplices and other gang members. The suspects will be charged in court once inquiries conclude.
