Former Epstein Accuser Found Safe in Florida Detention After Disappearing in New York
Elisabetta Tai Ferretto, a former model and one of the first women to accuse Jeffrey Epstein, was reported missing in New York on April 22. Her family’s concerns grew when she stopped communicating and deactivated her social media accounts shortly after returning from Italy. Italian prosecutors and the Foreign Affairs Ministry engaged U.S. authorities to locate her. Although New York police initially had no missing person record, international cooperation traced her to a detention facility in Florida, where officials confirmed her safety on May 7. Ferretto gained attention in 2019 after describing a 2004 encounter with Epstein. She said she was invited under the pretense of a work meeting and defended herself by throwing a vibrator at him before fleeing. Her family feared her disappearance might relate to her status as a high-profile survivor, though the reason for her current detention has not been disclosed.
