NSCDC Arrests School Staff Over Alleged Defilement of 14-Year-Old Pupil in Kwara
The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has detained a 43-year-old non-teaching staff member for allegedly abusing a 14-year-old Primary Four pupil inside a public school office. The Gender Unit launched the investigation after the girl’s mother reported her daughter was pregnant. During questioning, the suspect admitted the offences but blamed “the work of the devil.” He allegedly lured the pupil with promises of marriage and covered her mouth to stop her from calling for help. Commandant Abbas Nda Mohammed condemned the act as a severe violation of a child’s rights and innocence. The investigation is almost complete and the suspect will soon be arraigned in court.
