Tinubu Inaugurates 6,000MT-a-Day Lithium Plant in Nasarawa, Creating Over 3,000 Jobs

President Bola Tinubu has commissioned a new lithium processing plant in Endo Community, Nasarawa LGA, with a daily capacity of 6,000 metric tonnes and over three million tonnes annually. Owned by Diamond New Energy Company Ltd., the facility has generated more than 1,000 direct and over 2,000 indirect jobs since operations began. Tinubu emphasised the need to move from raw extraction to local processing to drive industrialisation and economic diversification. He praised Governor Abdullahi Sule’s policies for attracting investment and reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to ending raw mineral exports in favour of value addition. The administration aims to build integrated industrial ecosystems that translate Nigeria’s mineral potential into sustainable wealth.
