NYSC Corps Member Okolie Silas Empowers Makurdi Students with Digital Skills
Corps Member Okolie Silas Chukwuebuka launched a digital literacy project for Padopads Harmony Secondary School in Makurdi during his CDS. He guided students through computer basics, including hardware, the desktop environment, input and output devices, and internet usage. This multi-day training introduced Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Many students used computers for the first time, turning theory into hands-on learning. Their enthusiasm highlighted the urgent need for more ICT access in schools. To sustain the project, Silas will donate desktop computers to the school. “The excitement and engagement showed me how vital digital learning is in underserved communities,” he said.
