Snapchat Predator Jailed for Grooming Young Muslim Men
On 19 June 2026 a London court sentenced 31-year-old Waleed Saeed to 16 years for rape, blackmail and making indecent images of children. He posed as a woman or transgender woman on Snapchat to exploit young Muslim and South Asian men. Investigators say Saeed threatened to expose victims to their families and communities unless they paid or met him in person. Two confirmed victims were just 15 and 17 years old, and police believe there may be more survivors. The case began in August 2024 when a man reported being assaulted in a London park after exchanging images online. Months of detective work traced multiple fake Snapchat profiles back to Saeed, leading to charges across five victims. Authorities are appealing to anyone who recognises the usernames to come forward. All survivors will be treated with confidentiality and support.
