Why Greater Responsibility Demands Greater Prayer

Psalm 56:9 reminds us, “When I cry out to You, then my enemies will turn back.” As our responsibilities grow, so does our need for God’s strength, wisdom, guidance, and grace. George Washington was so devoted to prayer that his fellow congressmen recognized him by the way he knelt. Even when the fate of a nation rested on his shoulders at Valley Forge, he found refuge in prayer. David, too, ruled Israel yet declared, “In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid.” When you carry more weight, don’t rely on your own strength. Instead, deepen your prayer life and rest in God’s faithfulness.
