Kiss the Son: A Call to Serve the Lord (Psalm 2)
This passage from Psalm 2 begins as nations and rulers rise in rebellion against the Lord and His anointed one (vv. 1–3). God’s response is to laugh and speak in wrath, yet He declares, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you,” and places His King on Zion’s holy hill (vv. 4–7). He invites us to ask and receive the nations as an inheritance. Rulers are urged to serve the Lord with fear, rejoice with trembling, and “kiss the Son, lest he be angry” (vv. 8–12). Blessed are all who trust in Him.
