NEMA, KSrelief Deliver 24,302 Food Baskets to Vulnerable Families in Five States
The National Emergency Management Agency has completed the distribution of 24,302 food baskets donated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre to vulnerable households in Yobe, Benue, Kebbi, Anambra and Taraba. Flagged off by Director-General Zubaida Umar in Damaturu, Yobe State, the exercise delivered 6,000 baskets to Yobe, 6,403 to Benue, 4,399 to Kebbi, 4,000 to Anambra and 3,500 to Taraba. Mrs. Umar stressed that the intervention underscores the strong humanitarian partnership between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia. She reminded residents to heed flood warnings, clear drainage channels and avoid high-risk areas as the rainy season sets in. Reaffirming the federal government’s commitment under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to citizens’ welfare, the DG urged beneficiaries to use the food items responsibly and expressed optimism that the aid will bring timely relief.
