Adamawa Man Remanded Over Alleged Theft of 22 Pairs of Underwear for Rituals

A Chief Magistrate Court in Yola, Adamawa State, has remanded 27-year-old Muktar Shehu in a correctional facility over allegations of house trespass, theft and possession of criminal charms. Police alleged that Shehu, a resident of Zango Ward in Jimeta, Yola North LGA, broke into Halima Yakubu's home on 6 August 2026 and stole 22 pairs of underwear and other clothing. According to the prosecutor, Shehu allegedly told investigators that he took the items for ritual purposes. He pleaded guilty when arraigned, while the prosecution sought to call a witness to support the case.
