Golf Icon Tiger Woods Arrested for DUI After Florida Roll-Over Crash

Golf Icon Tiger Woods Arrested for DUI After Florida Roll-Over Crash — 1 of 4
1 / 4

At around 2pm on Friday, golf legend Tiger Woods was involved in a single-vehicle collision near his Florida residence. His SUV struck a trailer, overturned and landed on its side. Authorities arrested Woods at the scene and charged him with driving under the influence, property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test. Sheriff John Budensiek reported officers observed signs of impairment. Woods consented to a breathalyser test, which returned all zeros, then declined a urine analysis. Investigators believe medication, rather than alcohol, may have been a factor. No injuries were reported. Woods will remain in custody for at least eight hours before bond. The charges are misdemeanours.

It's surprising he ended up in a rollover crash so close to home, but details about road condition or speed remain unclear.

We shouldn't jump straight to conclusions about intoxication without knowing if any medical issue or equipment failure played a part.

It's a good reminder to always check vehicle maintenance and avoid driving when feeling tired or impaired, regardless of status.
