Three-Year-Old Dangling from London Window Ledge Rescued by Stranger and Officer

A three-year-old girl clung to a window ledge above a shop on Ilford High Road for nine minutes before a passerby and a police officer caught her as she fell. Bystanders screamed for help while a woman leaned out of a lower window to reassure the child. Just as her grip weakened, a topless man—unrelated to the family—joined the officer on the ledge. They positioned themselves beneath her and safely caught her to cheers from the crowd. The rescued child was then handed back to the woman, who was waiting inside the flat. According to her father, both rescuers were “amazing heroes.” The Met Police confirmed officers arrived at the scene shortly after 3:20 pm and the girl was safe by 3:32 pm with no injuries reported. The family were grateful and said she returned to school later that day.
