WDC Ogun State Partners Ikenne LGA to Strengthen Primary Healthcare
On July 21, 2026, the Ogun State Ward Development Committee held its monthly meeting and strategic stakeholders’ engagement in Ikenne Local Government Area. The session was hosted by the Ikenne chapter at the local government secretariat and presided over by State Chairman Alhaji Asiwaju Dapo Wahab, JP. The gathering brought together government officials, health sector leaders, and community representatives to discuss ways of improving primary healthcare delivery, boosting community participation, and building partnerships across all 236 wards in the state. A key highlight was the advocacy visit to the Executive Chairman of Ikenne LGA, Hon. Jamiu Asimi, who pledged to address the committee’s requests and support healthcare initiatives. Dr. Solape Folarin from the National Primary Health Care Development Agency gave a technical presentation on promoting community ownership of health facilities and sustaining ongoing reforms. Local government officials also shared recent achievements in infrastructure and service delivery within Ikenne’s primary healthcare system. The Ward Development Committee reaffirmed its commitment to collaborate with government institutions, development partners, and local communities to ensure every primary healthcare facility in Ogun State remains functional, accessible, and capable of delivering quality services.
