Former Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong says the long-running Messi vs Ronaldo debate is finally over. As a SuperSport matchday analyst during Argentina’s 2-0 win over Austria, he lauded Messi’s stunning brace that made him the highest World Cup scorer with 18 goals. “The debate is over. Two fantastic players, but Lionel Messi is the GOAT, and he keeps on showing us what he is,” Ekong said. He highlighted Messi’s recent hat-trick and brace streak after winning the World Cup.
