Rhapsody Model Nursery and Primary School in Lagos marked its 10th anniversary alongside its 2026 Primary Six graduation. The celebration honoured outstanding teachers, pioneer graduates and loyal parents who have supported the institution’s journey. Chairman Bishop Dr. Emmanuel Olatunji Ijaola and Director Rev. Shola Ijaola reflected on a decade of academic excellence, recalling early backing from First Bank and Accion Microfinance Bank. They also unveiled plans to establish a secondary school, noting that facilities are ready pending regulatory approval. Philanthropist Eze Chika Nwokedi fulfilled his anniversary promise by gifting pupils awards worth over ₦100,000 and donating livestock valued above ₦1 million. Graduates, teachers and parents received special recognitions, underscoring the school’s commitment to quality education, moral values and community empowerment.

Honouring both teachers and pioneer graduates shows community spirit, but there's no mention of how the school measures student progress over the decade.

The ceremony sounds impressive, yet those awards risk being more about publicity than actual impact on daily learning experiences.

Perhaps a community open day or alumni mentoring programme could build on the anniversary celebration to support future pupils.
