Jim Rash: Community Star and Oscar-Winning Writer Behind The Descendants

Jim Rash is an American actor, comedian and filmmaker best known as Dean Craig Pelton in the sitcom Community. His performance on the series earned him a Critics’ Choice Television Award nomination in 2012. Rash also co-wrote The Descendants with Alexander Payne and Nat Faxon. The screenplay won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, alongside major honours from the Independent Spirit Awards and Writers Guild of America. Born on 15 July 1971 in Charlotte, North Carolina, Rash has also appeared in films including Sky High, Minority Report and One Hour Photo. With Faxon, he later co-wrote and directed The Way, Way Back and Downhill.
