Lagos Says Digital Monitoring Will Improve Delivery of Public Projects

Lagos State says it is strengthening monitoring and evaluation to improve project delivery, accountability and value for residents. At the 2026 Monitoring and Evaluation Stakeholders’ Forum in Alausa, officials said projects are tracked from planning through implementation rather than only after completion. The state said residents are consulted during budget preparation across the five IBILE divisions to identify priority projects. Its monitoring framework covers projects including the Opebi-Mende Bridge, Massey Children’s Hospital, rail infrastructure, the Food Logistics Hub, as well as education, health and community programmes. Officials also highlighted the use of digital tools such as the EKO360 app, with artificial intelligence expected to support data collection and project tracking. Speakers at the forum called for results-based management that judges government performance by measurable improvements in residents’ quality of life, not simply by money spent or projects announced.
