Surprise Inspection: Governor Namadi Finds 17 of 18 Commissioners Absent

Surprise Inspection: Governor Namadi Finds 17 of 18 Commissioners Absent

Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi made an unscheduled visit to the state secretariat on July 20. He found the offices of the Secretary to the State Government, Head of Service and Accountant General locked. Only one commissioner was at his desk. The Commissioner for Works and the permanent secretaries for Health and Livestock Development were present. All other commissioners and permanent secretaries were absent during working hours. Governor Namadi criticised the widespread absenteeism. He warned that indiscipline and misconduct in the civil service would no longer be tolerated.

It's telling that 17 out of 18 commissioners were absent during that impromptu visit, showing serious gaps in team coordination.
