Modern-Day ‘Harlot’s Attire’: A Biblical Perspective

Modern-Day ‘Harlot’s Attire’: A Biblical Perspective

In Proverbs 7:1-23, Solomon warns of a young man who falls for a woman dressed like a harlot. The text never labels her a literal harlot; she was married, but her clothes invited sin. Today, some outfits serve the same purpose. Mini skirts, tight or transparent clothes, backless or strapless tops can stir desire. They may be fashionable, but they can objectify women and trap men in lust. As Christians, we must guard our eyes. Job 31:1 urges us to make a covenant with them. Jesus taught that lustful looks are heart sin (Matthew 5:28). Let us choose purity over temptation.
