Ex-New Jersey Teacher Indicted on New Charges Over Student Relationship

Ex-New Jersey Teacher Indicted on New Charges Over Student Relationship

A former New Jersey middle school teacher was hit with a 12-count indictment on June 24. The new charges include manufacturing child sexual abuse material, sexual assault of a minor and a pattern of official misconduct. Prosecutors say the victim, now an adult, described multiple illegal encounters in 2021 in the teacher’s vehicle and classroom. Investigators also recovered thousands of explicit text messages that allegedly continued after the student left middle school. Defense attorney Rocco Cipparone argues those messages were taken out of context and lack proof of wrongdoing. If convicted, each first-degree charge carries up to 20 years behind bars.
