London Hit-and-Run Driver Jailed After CCTV Links Him to Delivery Rider’s Death

A 26-year-old man has been sentenced to six years and nine months in prison for killing a food delivery worker in a high-speed crash in east London. He fled the scene after the collision, striking the rider as he stepped off his vehicle to deliver an order. Investigators used CCTV footage, ANPR technology and forensic analysis to trace the Range Rover to a local garage and identify the driver. He later admitted causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop. The court also disqualified him from driving for five years and ordered an extended driving test before he can return to the road. Police say the sentence brings justice for the victim’s family.
