Yobe Police Arrest Two Suspects Over Murder and Drug Offences in Damaturu
The Yobe State Police Command arrested two men in Damaturu for alleged murder and drug abuse offences. Musa Mohammed, 24, is accused of attacking Adamu Suleiman Saidu, 33, with an axe after a dispute linked to substance abuse. Saidu later died at the General Hospital in Damaturu. In a separate incident in the Abari community, officers arrested 20-year-old Alamin Abdullahi Musa following a fight with 21-year-old Ibrahim Abdullahi over a borrowed T-shirt. Ibrahim was confirmed dead at the Specialist Hospital in Damaturu. Spokesperson SP Dungus Abdulkarim said investigations are ongoing. He urged parents, community leaders, and civil society groups to support efforts against youth drug abuse. The command noted a continued reduction in the state’s crime rate thanks to community cooperation.
