Katsina Police Arrest Suspected Bandit Informant in Sayaya Village Massacre
The Katsina State Police Command says it arrested Surajo Isyaku, 45, on May 15 after acting on credible intelligence. He is accused of participating in the April 5 attack on Sayaya village, where armed assailants burnt homes and killed a police officer. The suspect confessed to kidnapping, cattle rustling and collaborating with a notorious bandit kingpin known as Bello. Victims paid about ₦7 million in ransom, and he allegedly received ₦900,000. Police say he also helped lead raids on Dukawa village, resulting in the theft of 14 cows sold for ₦40,000. Investigations continue, and the command urges residents to share timely information.
