Ogun Culture Ministry Hosts ‘Improving Productivity for Enhanced Service Delivery’ Workshop

The Ogun State Ministry of Culture and Tourism held a one-day training at the Abeokuta Cultural Centre. The workshop focused on boosting productivity for junior officers at grade levels one to six. Permanent Secretary Dr. Quudus Yusuff said the initiative supports the government’s goal of a more effective public service. He urged participants to apply their new skills, warning against absenteeism and indiscipline. Future sessions will target professionals within the ministry, including dancers, singers and performers. Director of Administration and Supplies Mrs. Oluwafunmilola Osibodu highlighted how the training prepares staff for greater responsibilities and leadership roles. Speakers covered public records management, ethics, discipline and financial regulations. Participants described the programme as insightful and pledged to uphold civil service guidelines in their duties.

I agree, that workshop can reinforce productivity habits and give junior officers practical tools to handle daily duties more confidently.

It's notable they chose a single day for productivity training, but deep skill changes typically take longer than a workshop.

I get my doubts; one-day effort no go fix all productivity gaps, especially if there's no structured follow-up beyond the centre.

Scheduling quarterly refresher sessions could help reinforce lessons from this workshop and ensure junior officers maintain enhanced service standards.
