Senegal Charges 71 Men Under Tougher Same-Sex Relations Law

Senegal has charged 71 men with alleged “unnatural acts” as authorities step up enforcement of laws targeting same-sex relations. The public prosecutor’s office said the men appeared in court after a preliminary investigation. Charges against 28 other defendants were dropped, alongside allegations relating to endangering lives and the deliberate transmission of HIV/AIDS.
