Kano Hosts First Olympic Values Education Seminar for School Sports Officers
On May 11, 2026, the Nigeria Olympic Committee and the Nigeria Schools Sports Federation launched the first Olympic Values Education Programme in Kano State. Over 100 teachers and sports officers attended a high-impact workshop using the IOC’s Olympic Values Education toolkits to promote excellence, friendship, and respect in classrooms and on playing fields. The session was led by IOC-certified expert Prof. Abiodun Moronfolu. This Kano event is the first in a three-part series. The next seminars will take place in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State from May 18–20, and in Lagos from June 2–4. The initiative aims to strengthen grassroots sports and lay a foundation for elite performance in schools.
