Mother Celebrates Son at 19 After Refusing Doctors’ Advice to Abort

Nineteen years ago, doctors told me my unborn son had Down syndrome and was missing a leg. They advised me to end the pregnancy, but I chose to continue because I wanted to hold my son in my arms. He was born healthy, with both legs. Today, he is 19 years old, 1.85 metres tall, a college student, a footballer and a speaker of three languages. I am deeply proud to be his mother. To me, every child is a precious gift and a miracle of life.
